Swindon - the centre of enlightenment

Swindon, in England, may not seem like
the place for the dawn of a new enlightenment. But, that is exactly
what it is.
The council in the Wiltshire town have recognised that fixed speed cameras are having no effect on road safety (noting that actually accidents have increased as the forest of speed cameras have grown) and have voted to chop the lot of them.
Instead, £320,000 (the price of just six to seven cameras!) will be spent on educating drivers, installing betters street lighting and lowering speed limits in danger areas.
Other councils please note!
